My new pair of Infinity 5.25" speakers dont fit in the front holes. I'm pretty sure they will fit in properly if I englarge the hole, which is cutting the metal, and the panel.
I hope at least.
How would one go about doing this? I have access to most tools, just nobody that knows how to do such a thing :-/

be careful that the speakers you are planning to mount won't project back into the door so far that they interfer with the window movement!..... I think it may be safer to use a mounting that places the speaker into the passenger compartment, rather than into the door itself......

Yes, you'd be better off making spacers to move the speakers forward. My brother did this to fit some 6.5" speakers in the front doors of his '81 (same door panel as yours). However, then the window cranks hit the speaker grilles, so he converted to power windows.
Right. I have power windows, and measured the depth. They should fit, I might need something like a 2/8" spacer though. Should be good. I THINK that the original grills should fit over the speakers.
But my real question is, how do you actually cut the metal? How strong is it?
Any procedures I should do?

I did this years ago. I just used 1 inch plastic riser rings for the speakers. Worked with the electric windows like a charm.
If you do it with spacers, you don't need to cut the metal. Cutting the metal isn't easy, I recommend against it if possible, (my brother didn't need to with 6.5" speakers), but I've used what I call a sabre saw (aka jig saw) with a hacksaw blade in it. You may be better off trying to bend the metal back out of your way, if that's necessary.
