F.S in UK. Volvo V70/S70 Power steering rack, plus Alternator.

Hi all. Due to the imminent purchase of a new (to me) V70, I have some parts to sell, which I purchased but were never fitted. This includes a Power steering rack, which was purchased from someone who was breaking their car up after major engine failure, much as I will be in the next few weeks!. The rack is in very good condition, and includes track-rod ends. I took this rack to a local re-conditioning agent when I bought it, and he told me everything was fine, nothing needed attention, and just bolt it on! I have to top up the power steering rack on my current V70 about once per 3 months, so I have never got round to fitting it. Asking price is £100, and I can post it anywhere in the UK at cost £20 max), or you can collect from me anywhere in the Peterborough area. I also have an Alternator from a Diesel V70, which has been reconditioned, with new bearings e.t.c. fitted. Price £40. Please E-mail me at joelandymanpostmaster.co.uk if interested, or phone/text 07887 694427. I can E-mail photos of the items if required, or come and inspect them yourself. The items will go on Ebay in a couple of days if there is no interest. Many thanks, and I look forward to my new shape V70 diesel when it arrives! Cheers. Joe. Peterborough UK.

Hi Tim. I've found a New shape, Old engine car, 2.5D, same engine as mine, with 60K on the clock, 4 years old. Must be one of the first few new shape cars made, which I know is risky, but I'm having it anyway. It's an SE, with lots of toys, Except cruise (obviously before they started putting it on as standard). I will be looking to fit cruise pretty quick, as it's my most-used function. I'm still undecided as to whether I try and sell my 1997 V70 TDI with the oil leak, and 250K miles on the clock, or whether I put it on ebay as parts. I have kept EVERYTHING in working order, and have tended to whatever requires attention as soon as necessary. I believe this is the only way to be, because if you leave things alone when they go wrong, you soon have a car which requires huge amounts spending on it to get it back up to scratch. Having said that, I haven't had many problems with it considering the mileage I've covered, but I fear it will remain the best car I have ever owned! Can the new model shape up??! It's a great pity to break my old car up, because it's currently a running model and in fine shape with long MOT and all the toys, all of which work

100%, but it makes black puddles on my driveway. It'd be repairable for £600 or so, or you could have another engine lifted in by one of these large companies who just do engines. I was tempted to do this myself, but I'm ready for a change. Anyway, there we go. Make me a sensible offer of around the £1200 mark, or expect to see a LOT of V70 parts on ebay soon! All interior trim is in very good shape, as I fitted Leather/heated/electric memory seats a few months ago. Cheers for now. Joe. Peterborough UK.
