Too less fluid in the system. Must be refilled.

Does it work properly, then there might be no problems.

Hi, no it does not work at all, no cooling

I think you should get a second opinion on the liquid level. If ok, the workshop should be able to find whats causing the problem elsewhere.

The a/c on the 70series works via a variable pressure switch, not an on / off. The ECU controls the a/c clutch and cooling fan.

What behaviour does your cooling fan have? A failed motor will also cause the cycling of the compressor.

If the fan is ok, then refridgerant level too low or too high you will also generate this behaviour. There is no HP port on the system so correct charge is via vaccuuming down and then adding the under-bonnet posted weight of R134a. If you are a volvo dealer you would also plug into the ECU and monitor the correct pressures as you charge it.
