V70 Sun Visor & Door Trim

I am trying to locate two bits of trim for our 1997 V70. Does anybody know of a UK supplier other than Volvo

First is a replacement drivers side sun visor (preferably the one with the mirror and light on it - BUT I CAN LIVE WITHOUT IF THERE IS A NON LIGHT VERSION AND IT IS CHEAPER). The spring thing that pushes the visor up into the roof lining seems to have broken.

Secondly, that part of the drivers door panel that contains the window and mirror switches and door handle. This is the bit that butts onto to door loudspeaker. The plastic trim is pulling away from the foam lining. It must have been stretched on originally to fit into the internal curves and can't see any way of trying to push it back as the plastic seems to have 'shrunk'. Do not need switches etc. I am hoping that this part of the door panel is seperable from the rest and I do not have to buy a whole pannel.

Needles to say I am looking for a somewhat keener pricing structure than buying from Volvo.

Is there really noone who sells Volvo trim other than Volvo. The sun visor is 80+ pounds and the door panel (apparently Volvo will sell only the WHOLE door panel) for 200++ pounds.

The door trim is a common problem; all four of my doors came 'unglued' in the last 6 months.

In the US each pair (i.e., front, and back) is $288 dollars. Plus installation.

The dealer blames it on 'environmentally friendly glue' that doesn't stand up to aging.

Took the car to an upholstery place yesterday --- he wasn't sure that it could be recovered with something else, but will look into it.

Would appreciate hearing from anybody who fixed the problem without reverting to buying new panels.

There is a cunning service called 'Google' available through the Internet.

Also known as 'Google is you friend'.

This offers, for instance:

is also a very useful book calleed 'Yellow Pages'. This yields Brookhouse Volvo Parts

Incidentally, they use Volvo Spares UK as a supplier.

So there you have a choice of used and 3rd party new spares for Volvos.
