85 Cabriolet help with emergency brake cable...

Ok i have a 85 cabriolet and i got it without emergency brake when i look at it im missing one of the 2 cables in there tried adjusting just one side but it didnt do the trick i guess it needs both cables to be able to work , corect me if im wrong? well my question is this ...how dificult will it be to get a new cable in there and an estimate of price for it new because there is a junkyard near the housr that has a 81 rabit i been getting parts from and it does have both cables i just have not gone into the place with the mood to get under the car and get the cables. but also does those cables fit? i know almost all i have got from thet rabit has fit my cabriolet but i have only got small parts nothing mayor and this i dont know if it will be a diference betwen models and all. thanks spawn51

you can get them at almost any of the online import auto places. The first placed that I look just now had them for $11.03

when I got my 81 rabbit convertibleit also had a broken line. I replaced it and about 2 month later the otherone broke due to finally being tight after months on no tension. So Irecommend that you replace both at the same time. Also since you have to getinto the rear drums to attach them I'd recommend repacking the rear wheelbearing and getting new pads while you are in there. You could do it all for< $50 and one afternoon.
