About 300 000 km, Michigan car until a year ago, body in pretty good shape, solid underneath as far as I know. I hate to part with it, but finding time to work on it is getting more difficult. With kids in the near future, I've bought something new for the daily highway slog and stroller schlepping.
Because we're among friends, here's full disclosure: black, sunroof, AM/FM/cassette from '95 Passat w/ Aktiv speakers working, power Recaro seat height adjust works interior clean, some dash cracks trunk doesn't lock speedo/tach work, odometer / multi-function indicator not working engine/trans. good, small oil leak (couple of drops on the driveway in the morning), doesn't burn oil new front pads/rotors, heater core, front wheel bearing, strut bearing within last 1.5 years, replaced rad, water pump, main fuel pump, headlight lens shift linkage could use a tweak, you have to give it a good shove to the right to get it up into 5th when it's hot goop seems to be seeping out of driver's side CV boot, but I can't find a tear in the boot alternator makes a bit of a sqeak when you spin it by hand occasional idle roughness, hesitation that goes away if you shut off / restart passed Ontario emissions Jan. '05, passed Newfoundland inspection Mar. '06. Should pass again except for windshield crack. A/C plumbing removed. I put in a non-A/C rad, had to trim some hoses, may not be a bad idea to get the correct upper rad hose.
I'm going to miss it. $900 o.b.o. I don't want it to go to the crusher just yet.
