Hello all
I have a 1991 Jetta 1.8 gas/auto trans I understand the coolant sensor is one of the two sensors on the outlet between the 3rd and 4th cylinders. Whick one is it, and what is the other one?

The Haynes book I have makes no mention of this type of coolant temp sensor, it only has the type that screws into its own housing, not into "the hose" where it is located with the other sensor side by each.
I went to Crappy Tire, and they wanted $52.00. I instead went to pick a part, where there were 2 Jettas, 1991, same motor etc. They were both stripped clean, and they were the only members of the VW family in the lot. Oh well. Next time I go back I will look. Cant beat 2 bucks a shot.

Always call the dealer, especially when looking for something at Canadian (i.e., Crappy) Tire. The blue temp sensor is available for ~$20. The black one is probably similarly priced.
Where in Canada are you located?

Snowy Edmonton
...then I won't suggest a place in Toronto. Did you end up calling the dealer about the sensor?
Wet Toronto.
