Toyota Avensis. Differences between Generations?

Hi,

I have an 05 reg T2 Avensis, 1.8 petrol, 5 dr hatch, which was probably made in 2004. I understand that there were some changes introduced in

2003. I'm not sure whether this was just a facelift, or a major redesign. Which? and Parkers Price Guide have their information in two groups, pre 2003 and post 2003.

The reason for my enquiry is that I would like to get some technical information about the car, ie. more than in the Owner's Handbook. I'm interested in the location of various units, adjustment points, electrical circuit and minor tasks such a removing interior trim.

There is a Haynes workshop manual, but this only covers cars up to 2003. Would this be any use, for the later model? Are there any other sources of technical information for Toyotas?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards

Buy the proper factory workshop manual from Toyota (probably be able to get it from the dealers) or look on ebay to see if there are any available there.

Thanks John & MrCheerful for the advice. I'll try the Toyota dealer, but suspect that they might be unwilling to sell official manuals, or that they might be prohibitively expensive, all to discourage DIYers :-(

I've had a look on ebay, but could find only the Haynes Manual for pre-2003 models.

I had hoped that someone on this forum, with knowledge of Toyotas, could have outlined the differences between the pre-2003 and post-2003 models.

They will sell them to you, the cost is going to be high probably 50 -100 pounds, however the info will be correct.
