Not quite on topic, but a plea for help!

Dear participants in the alt.autos.saab forum.

I am a PhD student at The Norwegian School of Management (BI) in Norway. Currently we are conducting a research study trying to build knowledge about how we, as consumers, are sharing our experience as customers of products or services in discussion forum such as this one. The data collected through this survey will form the basis for my PhD dissertation. I find the discussions in this forum very interesting, and invite you to participate in the study on the link below. Answering the survey will take approximately 10 minutes of your time.

To those of you that take this posting offensive, I apologize.

Many thanks to those of you who take the trouble and help me in my PhD work.

All comments, positive or negative, are welcomed, but please mail me directly ( snipped-for-privacy@bi.no) so we don't spam this forum unnecessary.

Best regards, Liv Karin Slåttebrekk PhD Student, Department of Marketing, NSM BI

You've sent this spam to just about every group I participate in, and received pretty much the same response everywhere you posted it.

Why is it that you just can't understand the simple concept that people reading this group are interested in Saabs, and not in your PhD thesis?

And so you should! I doubt very much that you bother reading this, but anyway, do you have any idea how stupid this 'plea for help' with your so called PhD dissertation thesis looks? And now you have PhD dissertations? Is that an inflation word for PhD thesis? Dissertations belongs to MSc and BSc levels AFAIK, but perhaps that's the easy way your 'school' is doing it nowadays! You have lowered the esteem by chucking silly questionnaires all over usenet, a blatant abuse of the system, what better way of annoying thousands of people.

I think the answers you have so far, in this and all the other newsgroups, would now a significant building block for your paper.
