300C Orders

Anyone else with Hemi issues? I ordered a new 300C about a month ago I am now being told by the dealership (Smith Chrysler, NJ) that the Hemi engine is not avaiable and that they can not give me a date when Chrysler will start building the order!!! Nigel

I'm in upstate NY. My dealer has 2 hemi 300C in stock. Have your dealer search the computer for dealer stock.

Your dealer's trying to optimize profit on this one sale, rather than procure it from another dealer. Bad long term practice.

Several Hemi 300C's at various dealers here in the Charlotte NC area. And already hear of new Magnum SXT Hemi's showing up on a few lots according to some of the Mopar forums.

Correction...it's not a SXT but rather an RT.

Thanks for the thoughts

Update as of Tuesday 5/11

Allegedly we now have an engine but cannot find a moon roof so we have still not moved to build status. Also no like models supposedly that match my configuration when they do a dealer search: Midnight Blue 300C with all options except the navigation ( I won't stop to ask directions why should I pay Chrysler $1500 for the privilege? any way I bought the beast to drive not to actually get there! :-) )

Get in line Nigel. I pre-ordered a C on December 27, 2003 and I'm still getting jerked around!!! I have been told that the car is built but that it could be held up for "quality inspection". As of yesterday GRAND PRIX JEEP-CHRYSLER in Long Island, NY could not even find out were my car is. After entering the VIN number in their tracking system, it is reported: "Can not locate VIN # xxx". Can not locate a car? How do these guys loose track of a VIN? I can order a $20.00 item online and through UPS or FedEx watch every step the stupid package takes to get to my front door. How can a "Five Star" Chrysler dealer not know where a car thats been invoiced be? Does anyone know the ropes of car shipping from plant to dealer?

I was lucky and jumped the line when the dealership offered me their showroom model as it came in two weeks ago. Even luckier it was built May

4th after Chrysler had fixed the camber/right drift problem that plagued some of the earlier made 300's. The car I ordered is still waiting delivery. All options and the Hemi!!!

I'm jealous! I really like the new C and wish I was in a position to get one myself. First time in a decade I have actually wanted a new car.
