Extended Warrenty

The current extended warrenty on my 99 300M is due to expire in September. Will have about 55,000 miles on it when it expires. I plan to keep it at least another 3 to 5 years. Any recommendations or cautions regarding purchase of new extended warrenty? Thanks for your input.

Has anything gone wrong with the 300M? If it has been reliable might be better off putting the money in the bank.

55K is when Chryslers start having trouble. I had a head gasket fail on my 94 Concorde and my 86 LeBaron GTS Turbo at approximately 55K. The airconditioner had to be replaced on the Concorde at 55K also, the replacement AC lasted until 90K. There were a number of other things that went wrong around about that time but I don't remember the details.

How much is the extended warranty and what's excluded from it? On the one hand you've got to figure that they've calculate the price so that they make money on it, on the other hand you can start to expect a few large repair bills in the near future so if the price isn't outrageous you might want to consider it.

Funny, none of my Chryslers seem to have gotten that memo. The newest one foolishly went all the way to 150,000 miles before a major repair.
