01 Dakota Slt AC drain?

Aug 24, 2007 18 Replies

The wife got back from a shopping trip yesterday with a VERY wet passenger side carpet..

The trip was several hours with the AC on...

In my last couple of trucks, it was always a little tube that had come off a nipple, probably from a passengers foot... I can't find anything like that here or any one spot that the water seems to have come from, any suggestions?

thanks

Is it purely water or is there anti-freeze mixed with it?

Craig C.

When this happened, to my 2002 Dodge Dakota Lemon, the entire dash on the passenger side had to be removed and the tube reinstalled.

Yeah, don't let her go shopping! (Oh, Hi Nan)

Look for where the tube drains on the engine side of the firewall and see what is plugging it up. Mexican dust/sand? Burrito? A missing piece of da machine?

Seems to just be water... no smell or taste..

Wabbit fur and half eaten WC's?

Bob

WTF????? Another member of the lynch mob???

Denny

You still swimming up there??

Roy

Now that ya tasted it bro, figure it is okay to tell ya that your cat had a accident.

Roy

I'm not but just 10 miles north of me is still under water. Ottawa got hit hard. Most of the downtown area is up to the windows in water. A pizza hut has water in it over the booths. A bank is up to the level of the counters. It started going down yesterday but what a mess. Findlay made the news but the smaller towns downstream from them got the worse end of it.

Had a night shoot last night. Ever shoot after dark holding a flashlight?? Worst thing is trying to see the target thru the smoke. But it was fun!!

Denny

Not a nice situation for anybody involved.

I'm sure the loss of a pizza hut must have been hard for you to take.

A bank is up to the level of the counters.

Last time I had to shoot at night, they were shooting back.

No, I wasn't holding a flashlight.

IIrc it could be tough. Those vid's of the shoot in Tenn. sure showed it.

Roy

Not this year, Mac. I can't say for next year yet either unless I leave my first wife at home. She doesn't have an interest yet to travel to South Mexico. I'm workin on it though...

Did you find what was pluggin your drain hole?

FMB (North Mexico)

That was WHY I tasted it... got to much invested in the cats to have them around leaking coolant.. I still haven't found where the water is coming from and of course, I loaned out my Chilton's and didn't get it back before we moved..

Roy
