97 explorer headlight issue

Jan 31, 2004 2 Replies

My passenger side headlight recently went out. I've changed the bulb, but it still won't work. The existing (and the new) bulb work on high beam, but not on low beam. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you have a message center (Eddie Bauer or Limitied), I'd say your problem lies in the Lamp Out module (LOM).

If I'm not mistaken, there is 1 fuse for each low beam headlight. May want to check them out. If you have a meter, check for voltage at the headlight socket. May be a bad socket. Are your fogs out too? Also, if you have a Lamp Out Module and it didn't detect the bulb failure, then chances are your Lamp Out Module went bad. The same problem already happened to me on my 95 EB. It turned out to be the LOM.
