1994 Ranger Oil Pan Gasket Replacement - Assistance Needed

Having trouble replacing the oil pan gasket on my 4.0L Vin X motor. Replaced gasket and had a leak at the long torx bolt on the right-rear side of motor. Pulled engine again and want to make sure I use the correct procedure when replacing this time. Do I use sealant in the channel provided in the oil pan? If so, what type. I used RTV black at the corners where the rear cap met the block and at the front corner at the crank pulley....no leaks at either spot. Used no other sealant when I installed the gasket. Also used a Fel-Pro gasket.....two metal stampings held together by rubber around the perimeter and rubber curved section for over the rear cap and crank pulley. Is there another gasket I should use with this motor? Did reuse the shins that were factory installed between oil pan and transmission housing when installing transmission on motor. Engine was removed for oil pump replacement. Should I reuse the gasket that is on the motor now? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Joe
