Re: Req assistance or manual for 2002 mustang

Question: Wife's mustang recently started hesitating (sputtering while driving), well tonight it actually quit and we could not get it restarted. The engine turns over fine, but it doesn't seem to be firing (almost like its not getting fuel) -- i'm not very experienced with mustangs --and want to know if this is common among mustangs, and what could be the possible causes (and fixes - without breaking the bank) -- Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

did the check engine light come on before this car stopped? What engine is it?

auto parts store, haynes or chilton manual.. ( ask counter guy if he knows which is best)

noid, avail at same store to check for injector firing

check for spark, check for fuel pressure.. pump running on key-on? should run for 2 or so seconds, change fuel filter.

Then you are going to have to find a way to read out the codes, which would save you a lot of troubleshooting
