Considering the age of the truck, the rings are fairly worn. It's blow by. changing the pcv valve won't fix the problem. A rebuild is about all that will.

Sounds like you have excessive blow-by. Either that, or you do a whole lot of wide open throttle driving. That will cause the back pressure in the breather tube going to the air box. All you can do is keep cleaning or replacing the CCV filter, or rebuild the engine if wot driving is not the problem.
In the year since I last changed the filter, it was mostly black with oil. Not to the point it was dripping though. Within the past month since I changed it, it's already partially black. I can't remember what the filter looked like before I changed it the first time. But I suspect it is getting worse. Thanks for your response.
