Stereo wiring

Feb 02, 2004 3 Replies

My father picked up a Ford factory radio/tape deck at a wrecking yard and wants me to install it in his 78 F150. The only markings on the stereo is hand written "86 Bronco II." It has 2 plugs with 8 wires each and this is a bit more than I want to try and guess at. Anybody know where I can get a wiring diagram for this?

Try your local library for a Chilton's manual that covers the 86 Bronco II. It should show the wire colors and outputs. Tom F.

Any way you can get a picture of the plug?

the 86 bronco 2 radio is not compatible with a 78 furd. the 78 is common ground, and im sure the speakers suck. so start with the speakers and replace them and run new wires to the head unit. now buy a real stereo and install it.
