Does anyone have any tips for buying an Series III XJ6? The car in question is a 1982 4.2, apparently in good condition (I haven't been to see it yet).

Check for rust around lower corners of front and rear windscreens.
Common problem and can be expensive to repair.
There's a whole section in

that relates to checking out an XJ before purchase. You'll have to 'fossick' a bit in the site, but its there.
