1997 Jeep Cherokee

The drivers power seat stopped working and I chased the problem to the red (+) feed wire. I checked every fuse and couldn't find one for the power seat. The wire disappears under the carpet and I don't feel like tearing the interior apart. I would like to splice a new wire into the feed wire under the dash if possible. There is room to put the wire under the center consoul. What I need is a electrical diagram for the power seats, where the fuse is if there is one or a description of where to find the old wire under the dash. Thanks Wayne

There has to be a fuse. Nothing wires directly back to the battery. Odds are the wire got pinched under the carpet. But just to be sure I'd ohm out the seat 12v to ground.

I had a same problem long time ago. Again couldn't locate fuse at that time so just rerouted new wire with fuse on it and connected to seat power supply underneath. Original wire was completely black inside probably from humidity under the carpet and there was no way to use it anymore. Better fix a new one.

Thanks. I am going to run a new fuse and wire under the consul to the power seat. I think you are right about the moisture. This Cherokee had a bad leak on the fire wall on the passenger side and I wouldn't be suprised that this is what happened. Wayne

the seat gets it power from a 30 amp circuit breaker in the junction box on the pass kick panel red with lite blue wire is the wire that feeds the seats did you have a windshield replaced there might be a small leak and the j.b is getting wet "Wayne Larson" wrote in message news: snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com...
