98 TJ - Factory Fog Light Troubleshooting

Or you turned the bulb socket thingy too far...take the switch out of the bezel, go to wherever and get a new bulb, or replace both illumination bulbs in the switch, and let us know. The bulb (or maybe even the socket) is letting current bypass to the relays kicking on the fogs. Had same thing after putting my dash back together awhile back, changed the bulb and it worked fine...I had played with the switch and messed the bulb up.

Those bulbs are actually replaceable? I can't really see a part # on it.

Where did you find a replacement bulb?

Dealership wants $47CA for a new one.

I told them I don't need the green light that badly.

So far I think I've solved the problem(s).

1. Green illumination light bulb was loose (which was the sympton of the green light going on and off)
2. Ground wire was loose (I used the Mopar fog light wiring set for the factory fog lights). The ground wire I had it tied to came off. (this would explain why me thumping the switch panel with my hand caused intermittent results (the ground wire jiggling)).

It's even possible 1/2 of the wiring harnesses came loose so I pinched them all together with my fingers again.

So far so good.
