I think I need a front end alignment, as I tend to squeal the tires while doing slow speed turns. Tire pressure is ok. Gonna replace the shocks and get a front end alignment done.

Bill knows nothing about the TJ he hates nor its suspension which is totally different from any Jeep he may have ever owned.. That problem has nothing to do with the steering stabilizer and if the front-end were in good condition, you could even run without the steering stabilizer which serves as a band-aid when other problems exist.

If the air pressure is where it should be, high-twenties or low-thirties (do not set it to the pressure molded into the tires's sidewall which is way too high for a TJ!), then I would think it's likely the front shocks are just too stiff.

Ditto here. Mine's been gone for a few years now and never noticed it's lack. Seem's to me one of the monthlies I was just reading touched on this subject. Basically if you need a "stabilizer" (IIRC, they said this was a misnomer), you've got problems elsewhere. It was explained that stabilizers were never designed to eliminate wobble, shimmy, or anything of the such. They were there to absorb shock to the steering system and thereby reduce it's wear and tear. Something along those lines. I'll see if I can dig up the reference. I completely expect Mr. Bill (Oh noooo!!!!) to try to twist it around SOME way to make him and only him the correct party here.

A very astute observation lol. ;)

It appears he equates his ability to find information on a subject (sometimes impressive, sometimes not) to being an expert on said subject. I'll freely admit he has an impressive list of useful links but in all honesty I got tired of his need to comment on probably 75% +/- of the daily posts, just so he can post some link to some tidbit and thereby reaffirm his supremacy as the Link King. IOW, he talks too damn much. I've just recently discovered the joy of the Block function and it seems the signal to noise ratio has been greatly improved.

I beg to differ. I have disagreed with Bill, and he with me, and we have hashed out our differences without calling each other names. That is not to say that one of us has persuaded the other to change positions, merely that "argument" doesn't have to be nasty. (I can't tell you how many times in the courtroom that I have essentially described opposing counsel as a lying, blood sucking scum by using the words "my esteemed colleague" instead.)

Jerry, we both have Scouting backgrounds. My impression of you has always been that you, as do I, understand that Scouting is a way of life and not just about campouts and badges. All I am asking is that you (and Bill) remember the 4th, 5th and 6th Scout laws.
