Hi all. I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler that has 2200 miles on her. She has a 6 speed manual tranny. Anyone else have problems shifting first thing when starting up your jeep? All gears shift fine EXCEPT from 1st to 2nd. This seems to shift a little "clunky" and stiff until I have had her running for at least 15-20 minutes. Then she shifts fine for the rest of the trip (until I shut her off and leave her for several hours. Then it's the same thing all over again.) I have driven several manual trannys over the years, but have never driven one that shifts this clunky from 1st to 2nd when you first start out for the day. Then again, I have never owned or driven a Wrangler prior to this either. Any ideas what this could be caused from? THANKS
Hard Shifting??

Not that this helps solve your problem, but my '94YJ does the exact same thing from 1st to 2nd, and it has 78K. Maybe someone can enlighten us. H-S-F
Either of you tried replacing your transmission oil with a good synth designed for THAT model transmission?

I replaced mine with a dino brand, wasn't sure about a change over to syn, but that discussion has already been had here. H-S-F
Red Line MT-90 is often recommended. I am using Penzoil Synchromesh in an AX5 and it works very well.
