They told me in Virginia that they could bite you in the foot, leaving a fang stuck in the leather. After you died, and your brother got the boot, it would kill him too, and so on for the whole family.

It was in the 'front yard' of a house and the hounds had collars on them... They pack up and go run deer on their own.

I'll ignore the obvious insults, and say you are wrong to think you are the only one who is capable of objectivity, and you are foolish to think someone with first hand experience doesn't know what he's talking about.

How is it then, that someone so "stupid" has drawn you to such insults?

I cannot speak on that issue, I have no first hand knowledge, and I don't know what's going on.

'Could' be, but it was right on the main drag between Toronto and Ottawa and was a gory mess all over the front yard with the dogs loose.... I would use the back yard or their pen for that purpose if I was to do it.

I had taken some photos of what I thought at the time was wolf tracks on a deer trail about 10 minutes from there in the bush. Maybe I should see if the high resolution version of the photo will show the print shape clearer. I figured wolf because there are wolf in those woods, but maybe it was dog there too.

Or maybe it 'was' an evil wolf that gutted the deer and left it for the dogs. LOL!

In a nutshell, downloading or otherwise copying/reproducing intellectual property without the copyright owner's permission is illegal. You weren't making the distinction between criminal and civil law until you were called on this statement: "ive stated that i do not break written law"

Reporters don't interpret the law, that's the job of activist judges. :-)

Why don't you tell Kate why DC threatened you with a lawsuit?

Now you're playing Nathan's game. I did **not** say that I am the only one who is capable of objectivity, and I did **not** say that "someone with first hand experience doesn't know what he's talking about". I **did** say that lots of people "don't see the forest for the trees". They get in the middle of a situation, and can't properly assess what is happening, until years or decades later. They fixate on details, like a dead elk, and jump to the "obvious" conclusion, "Wolves did it!" Later, if they are lucky enough, and spend enough time thinking about details, that might have looked extraneous at the time, they come to the correct conclusion. "I was wrong, it was dogs/hunters/extraterrestrials. Damn those little green jokesters!" No one, and I mean no one, thinks that it is happening to him, at the time.

In this particular case, thousands of research hours have been spent, and dozens of books have been published, by people who have been right there, on the ground, with wolves. The results have been used to justify the wolf program. Now why should I doubt those guys, who have relevant university degrees, the ear of the federal government, and real on the ground experience, just because some obvious crackpot on Usenet says that they are screwballs and "liberals"?

For your information, Spain also has a wolf program. Cute little fellers. It's in Cantabria, one of the wildest remaining places in Europe, and the last place in the peninsula to be conquered by the Romans.

---snippy---

Maybe it's because I can't get over the fact, that God created so many fools.

There are limited fair use issues, I believe the consensus is you there is implied permission for recording broadcasts for personal use but the broadcasters don't really like it. When blank cassette tapes and later VHS tapes became popular, the recording/movie industries were afraid that it was so easy to make copies infringement would be widespread, so a portion of the proceeds from the sale of blank cassettes & videotapes goes to royalties to offset possible infringement. I imagine part ot Tivo sale proceeds go to these as well...we have 2 Tivos and that's how I watch the Sopranos and Bill Maher.

But if you intend to obtain a copy of a copyrighted work without permission and without paying for it, as Nathan's beloved P2P filesharing programs like the original incarnation of Napster did, it's copyright infringement, which is illegal.
