oddly enough it wasnt my first choice, but it sure has grown on me. my first '03 rubicon (the one chryco bought back from me) was also patriot blue with the only difference being it had dual tops

and this time around i just got the soft top.
i hope it will be warm enough for some wrenching soon. my winch has been cryin' for a jeep since i sold my '03.
thanks jarod, i gotta question for you about chrysler finanace. WTF is wrong with them? my own bank offered to finance my jeep at 7%. my credit union offered to finance my jeep at 4.2%. despite having impeccable credit, chrysler finance on the other hand told me 17.2%. i could understand a slight difference but more than 4X?
originally i was, and that was the only reason i sold my '03. this changed for several reasons. my wife has effectively taken over the '04 CTD we bought so she will not be the primary driver of the jeep. the more i looked at the unlimited the less i liked it (nothing wrong with them at all, just not for me) so i went back to the SWB.
not this time. my '03 had dual tops and i found the hard top was a pain so i didnt get it. i figured if i change my mind later i can pick up a used one a lot cheaper than the $1800 option.

i got it around 25.
I would of stored it on mine for free for you.
Will they sell one without a soft top?

According to jeep.com and kbb.com, the dual top option is $1435 MSRP. But seems to only be available on the Rubicon, go figure...you get a choice of tops on the other models, but not both. That's dumb.
When you get the hardtop (not IF, but when, next spring after your first full winter without the hardtop) not only will you need to get the top, but also the wiring harness for the top which includes the light and rear wiper/washer/defroster, as well as the dash controls. Figure $8-900 for the top minimum, $200 for the additional parts, and who knows the $$ for labor to install the parts.
Yep, that was last May, I think. Pretty good place, though the trails we were on were on the easier side, since some of our group were close to stock. They do have some nice 5+ trails there. They have a very comprehensive map of the trails system so it's easy to choose which trails you want. We went there first last Easter, and it was fairly dry, when we went in May they had rain for the entire week, so a 3 trail became a 5. One downhill was particularly greasy, you just got over the crest and rode the ruts down until you got to the bottom. No traction at all. Wheeeee!
Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting there. Yes, rain adds to trail ratings and I know what you mean. I'll never forget this downhill I was on, complete control all the way down, so proud - a muddy hill - then saw the mud pit at the bottom LOL - NO control at all .. Wheee
