Forged steel. The only places where cast steel is used are in engine blocks and the lower suspension arm of the Libby, that's going to kill many people. When you have a question of steel alloys, grind it and compare the sparks to: God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:

There is a visual check for cast vs. forged as well. Simply look at the parting line left from the mold/die. Here is an example:
