110 Defender gutter

Today it rained. I climbed into the drivers seat and a mini copy of Niagara (that's N, not V) poured water all over my right leg as it headed for the driver's floor.



I don't remember this happening on my old 110, but on both sides of this Defender water pours over the front end of the guttering and in when the doors are open.



Is this normal? Have I got a Defender with sawn-off guttering? Is there a simple mod that I can do? When the rain stops I'll have a look myself, but it there is a known answer it might save me having to think.

I suspect the alpine lights on mine. I fixed the Niagara in the middle by doing the sun roof seal, but I still get dribbles a the sides over the doors. I think that's why.

Same issue on my 1986 110, gutters don't wrap far enough round onto the screen as they do on a series (because of course the screen glass is higher on a 90/110) my current temporary fix is some plumbers putty forming a kind of gutter around onto the screen, but I also want a better solution. You can get plastive oval shaped electrical conduit which I thought might make a good "downpipe", but not yet go around to it (only 4 years so far..)

Exactly the same on my 90! Seems to depend on the angle the vehicle is standing at prior to placing my weight on the side of the vehicle and thus causing much water to rush forward to the front of the gutter and thence over the edge onto my leg!

If you find a fix, I'd be really grateful too.
