Hi

I need a replacement alternator for my TD300 Disco - should I buy a new one - if so where can I get a good deal - or what about a second hand one? Any ideas please - I live in Worcestershire.

cheers

Tony

Like Nige says buy a new one .. but not from Land Rover or you'll need a second mortgage to pay for it. Any decent auto-electrician should be able to source one for you, or there's always eBay :-)

If you know where to get 'em for 50 quid, let me know and I'll go into business.

It's a 100A one and I've never seen 'em under a hundred. LR of course want silly money, as has been said. Partco or similar can supply them though.

Down the specialists and get it overhauled save a bundle . Derek

Got my last VM Rangie one reconditioned £35

Landrover wanted over £500 plus the VAT

I'll second that. There's a place near me that rebuild alternators and starter motors - mine came back "as new"
