On ringing the Billing line today to find out the admission price for this year I was informed that it was really good value as I could take the dog, mother in law for the same price. As I'm going alone, does anyone have a spare dog and mother in law that are into land rovers? Cheers, John

I have 2 spare dogs, and one spare mother in law. Actually, the mother in law is looking after the two spare dogs, while we take one dog with us.

Actually, although £15 is a bit steep for one person, if I took my lot I wouldn't be able to spend money on bits and pieces and it would cost me a fortune in drinks and food. Unfortunately my wife isn't quite as enthusiastic about the absolute need for all of the bits we know are essential for fending off wild BMWs on the weekly safaris to Sainsbury's.
"But why do we need a gun rack on the dashboard?"
"Because it's a Land Rover and they had one on Safari School!"
"So what is a Coles sun compass anyway?"
"It's what the SAS use to navigate in straight lines in the desert."
"Aren't you taking this global warming thing a bit too far?!"
Sorry John, Can't help. Someone came collecting for the old people's home and I gave them my mother in law.
Just waiting for someone to come round collecting for the PDSA or RSPCA and that'll be the dog gone :-)

That sounds really safe
Which is where guns should be when not in use. If I'd fallen over one of Bruce's guns I'd have taken it outside and run over it with the Land Rover.
Don't even go there sister!
It's probably not half as dangerous as the way he keeps his fishing hooks and trout flies.. .
I should imagine that it would be your own fault for not looking where you were going, should you become entangled in the lines or get a hook in your foot, because you should have looked where you were going!
I'm always very careful where I keep my flies, especially after having one removed from my ear while directing the surgeon by sound. I did once have two ferrets escape while I was driving and it wasn't easy trying to brake without flattening one of them! My rods tend to live on the plastic bits which support the roof lining and my rifle is never left in the car.
Nikki really ought to write a column entitled Confessions of a Land Rovering Wife, or something similar, she has an answer for every post. I'm really worried about the wood boring insects, I pass a lot of idiots on the way to work and their skulls must represent a large forest.
