I do understand the way such petty thieves think, and the point it they don't much and when they do it's a warped view.

PS, anyone want to buy a cheap GPS? the bracket snapped but it works guv.. or is that in bad taste?

Well to add to the debate, North Korea have an interesting system whereby the 'crime' passes through three generations. So, if your dad got a speeding ticket, you and your children would be locked up.

Similarly, the concept of 'collective responsibility' has been variously deployed. This means that a neighbour two doors down who gets caught fiddling his or her VAT return leads to you and the other neighbours getting your hands cut off.
