After lots of faffing around looking at over-priced 90 Tdi's to base my off-road project on, I have thought about using a Disco.
The plan - buy 3 door TDi Disco (lots around under £3k) lift it (3"?) and trim the wheelarches for bigger tyres (255x85x16?) fit 110 t-box to maintain gear ratios with big tyres, ARB's or Truetracs in both axles, rollcage, HD bumpers front & rear plus a few other bits and bobs like a snorkel.
As I see it:
Pros - cheaper, roomier, comfier, bit different.
Cons - longer overhangs, slightly longer wheelbase, bit heavier.
Any opinions or advice on bits to use such as the best way to lift it for bigger tyres etc, etc would be appreciated, or alternatively just take the piss like most of us in this group do! :)
