Gas conversion report

I've just been looking at a vehicle that has a gas conversion, but no accompanying certificate. NFU Insurance say that I would have to get an independent report on the installation.



Would there be a best way to find someone to carry out the inspection and write the report? Any ideas on the sort of price one should expect to have to pay?



The vehicle in question is a '92 Disco with 3.5i engine, but really this is with a view to knowing what to expect if the question arose about another vehicle in the future..

before i converted mine norwich union said they would want a certificate - but they never asked for it when i told them it was done! any LPGA listed installer will probably be happy to certify it. Going rate is an hour or two of labour at my local place so im told.

The problem would, of course, be that, in the event of any unfortunate incident on the road, the insurer might want to see the certificate.

Try Liverpool and Victoria for a quote, they were cheapest fro my RR, and they don't ask for any sort of certificate, and were happy to insure a DIY conversion with no inspection.
