Look what I saw on Ebay........

It's a Tomb Raider 90 that they want £19K for (????)

However my question concerns the actual vehicle spec - Ebay one is a TD5 - however I thought that the film model had a V8 with Holley carb and that the V8 went into the production ones? Economics would suggest that LR would just sex up a standard TD5 90 but, well, a V8 would have been nice

(and I ain't got 19K to waste in any case)

PS there is also a 101GS on Ebay at the moment

No, they were TD5. I think that considerable mods were required to get the V8 into the film version.

Well, having sat through the movie with the kids I'd have thought that a Series 2a would have done given that the LR was in it for about 20 seconds and, as far as I remember, splashed through a shallow stream and that was about it!

Considering the fuss they made about it, you would have though it would have appeared a bit more in the film. I've seen longer landrover clips in Last Of The Summer Wine, but they don't advertise a "Compo" model or anything

Only in Corgi form! (Compo model).

And the brakes squeaked when she stopped! Sounded very familiar. Apparently they were going to use Land Rovers in more of it but the locals offered they're own vehicles to add a more authenticity.

Are they making another series?

I hope not. It's getting silly now, practiaclly the entire cast has changed.

Hi Graeme,

A couple of years back I got to sit in one at a Billing landy dealers stand. The seat was still warm so I'm guessing it was Lara-fresh! Still,

19k buys a lot of cookie-dough :-)
