LR 90 Turbo cylinder head replacement

Jan 31, 2004 2 Replies

Hi all,

the cylinder head of my Land Rover 90 turbo has gone. I've the opportunity to get at no charge an head from a naturally aspirated

90 engine or the head from the 2250 engine fitted on a 88. Anybody knows if these heads will fit on a TurboD engine ? And if yes, could it works fine or the idea is totally crazy?

Many thanks in advance,

Max

While the heads are similar, the TD has bigger exhaust valves - I suspect that this would lead to performance problems.

Got a feeling that they are different, can't remember which part(s) though. I know the compression ratios are different but not sure if the difference is made up in the head or the pistons. Anyway, i've may have one for you very soon as the bottom end of an engine i;ve been given is U/S so once its had a couple more tests is may be surplus to requirements. Let me know if u are interested
