excellent data! I just took a look at it, so you know exactly what you can get. You want to be looking at the annual output for the turbine for your average windspeed, then compare against your own annual power consumption, then decide how much you want to spend on the turbine compared to how much you can get for exporting the power. Scottish hydro power pay about 8p/kwh exported (inc ROC payment), so quite good return.

Think I'd still work on the 1/3 rated output that is the accepted norm.

Aye we don't pay Scottish Power that much for the power we currently consume... 7.191p/unit (ex VAT) is our current tarrif.

With the deregulation in buying power does the same apply to selling as well? Can I buy from Scottish Power at best rate (ie low) and sell to who ever will pay the best rate (ie high?) or am I tied to buying and selling to the same company?

I thought this was the accepted figure for a 7 m/s average site. In fact very few "average" onshore turbines have managed this.

The thing is a gusty site will have more potential than a site with the same average but less fluctuation but will fit demand less well.

Yes the military 8.13:1 cr with restrictors were rated at 90 bhp, the same with restrictors out gives 112 bhp.
