LR website boo-boo

I was reading the blogs on

and found a rant about how Land Rover don't mention BL in their "heritage" info on their website.

So - you can tell I have too much time on my hands - I wandered over to look at the LR website.

And in the section on the original series 1 Discovery on the "Discovery heritage" page (

), I found this:

Discovery launched with advanced technologies such as permanent 4x4 > and the legendary Hill Descent Control included as standard

It's not just me, is it? Surely that bit about HDC is completely wrong.

But incredibly, there doesn't appear to be any way to email LR anywhere on their entire website. And I hold out very little hope of anybody giving a damn if I phone them, so the error will remain unless they happen to be reading this NG... ;)

You never know.

If they ain't got communications they aint got jack. There will no doubt be some bleating in years to come when it's another Marque to bite the dust. Landrover couldn't afford the staff to deal with all the complaints that an email address would spawn. Would put the spam to shame.

Besides , they may actually begin to listen to customers and start producing cars which are reliable , attractive to the eye and deveople with what the end user wants rather than what gimicks will sell them to the Corporate business executives who are about the only people who can afford one new... and long may they continue to take the deprictaion too.... Blessed are the Exec's!

That's how it was designed. I and at least one other person hereabouts have the full Land Rover Management Directory which gives Direct Dial numbers and valid email addreses.

Amazing, rang them this morning on a contact number from the web site with a question on a superceded part. Within three rings someone picked up the phone. He didn't know the answer to my query, took my phone number, said he would ask and then ring me back But I'm still waiting :-(

Hardly something to shout about. The very abscence of a mail link speaks volumes about the company's attitude to customers!

I've got a quite a lot too - guess where some of them get their parts/accessories from :-)

It was / is seen as an advertising tool, not a communications tool :-(

The directory is available (alright, not by direct link) on the website :-)

The corporate comms department is actually pretty fast and friendly. When I wanted permission for a release it only took a few hours to find someone who said "yes".

The people who said "no" didn't say it in writing...
