wasn't the money-spinner they'd hoped for? oh well. they had choices. I'm not surprised they've stepped down but with two other shows going head-to-head[1] you'd think they would have held their nerve slightly longer - at least long enough to pick up fall-out gossip.
[1] or did I dream that? certainly, can't find the link now.On Wed, 01 Nov 2006 17:51:37 -0000, "William Tasso" scribbled the following nonsense:
no you didn't dream it. Traders are currently split between the shows as well, with some plumping for Billing because it is well known across the world, while some are sticking with Richard Green....
Simon Isaacs uttered summat worrerz funny about:
Well LRO certainly have claimed the moral high ground with the expense of one of the best.

nope. LRE and LRM behaving like a pair of spoilt brats, with a bit of luck they'll *both* catch a cold over it.
I've a mind to write to LRO though. I'll never be likely to go over to the east of England for a show, it's simply too far away. Malvern is much more central, really. I'd not mind going over as far as Birmingham or Coventry or suchlike, but the places over in the east are 300 miles from me.
Let's hope Eastnor survives...

Jolly good
I sent an email to the LRO editor, for inclusion in the mag if he wants, saying what a nice show Malvern had been the last 2 years, and it was a big loss not to have it, and LRE and LRM deserve to mutually implode due to their moronic decision to clash, and that I hoped that LRO would resume the show in due course at a nice central venue somewhere in the midlands.
OWTTE
I never went to LRO in peterborough, twas just too far away. I'd go somewhat beyond Brum, though, for example as far as Coventry or thereabouts. Obviously, I like Malvern 'cos it's nearer - but it's still summat like 70 or 80 miles - and a good bit further for example from Pembroke. Peterborough from Pembroke must be getting on for 500 miles...
But, as you say, Eastnor. hopefully in the 110-transit hybrid.

got a reply, too:
"Thanks for your email Austin. Yes, dropping the show was a tough business and emotional decision for the people here, but with the chaos that's going on in the show scene I think it's the right one"
*I* think it's a pity that the other prats arsing around have potentially lost us what I found to be an excellent show, and I hope that they will keep it in mind for 2008.probably won't hurt if everybody gets onto them and is upset that the malvern show is going... chances are in the normal run of things the only people who can be arsed to write in are the ones whinging about something, the ones who found no fault haven't much incentive.
Seconded, although it was my first Land Rover show so I've nothing to directly compare with I thoroughly enjoyed it. Greg

May I suggset you email LRO and say that, if you've not done so already?
Having done organising (although not LR shows), I know that you hear far more from the whingers than from people who enjoyed themselves.
