Another minor, although annoying problem.
Range rover interior lights have a mind of their own. They come on and sometimes go off, sometimes (more frequently now) stay on. My first port of call is going to be the little "plungers" that show that the doors are open/closed but i'm pretty sure that they were all ok recently. I'm assuming that there is a relay or timer somewhere that works all this out. If so does anyone know where it is?? Range Rover '94 Tdi. Help!

At this point, I would like to add that these problems are in no way attributed to the deep wading that carried out this evening. Probably.

relays tend to be in the panels to the sides of the footwells, I think. Has yours got a delay timer on the interior lights?
Yes I think that this may be the problem......... It's been playing up. on and off for the last couple of months, or basically since i've bought it. The previous owner had take nthe bulbs out ofthe lights and also the fuse for the interior light system. Oh, and the cetral locking didnt work either.
I managed to get the cetral locking working. And also to fix the lights, but; so happy are they that they are working again they don;t want to go off. I've just taken the fuse out again now as they are staying on more often than doing what they should - if you know what I mean.

I had this problem some time ago on one light only. The wire to the door switch connects to earth when the switch is made. The wire had come off the switch and was intermittantly touching the frame thus putting the interior lights on. TonyB
Dave, If you find the answer, post it here as mine is doing exactly the same, but only in damp weather, I'd forgotten about it with not having much rain these past months, but now it's started again. Also the central locking doesn't work, same model Range Rover 94' Tdi, cheers, Martin.

On my 1983 Rangie it was located above the pedals behind the removeable pannel.
ON my 1990 Classic it was also in the same place amoungst a bank of relays...choices choices!
When I had cause to take the one out of my 83 rangie it had a dry joint.. once resoldered it was fine and much cheaper than a new one for which I was quoted money stuipd enough to make me try and fix it.
