Just an update after asking for help on knackered speedo 110 CSW 98. Booked in to garage for replacement tomorrow, son looked at it closely today and saw a small loose screw in the face of the dial holding the needle back. Phoned garage and told cannot fix unit as it won't come apart. Peeved so took a drill to perspex face , small hole just over screw and tightened it hey presto now works and saved £ 220 to fix :-))))))

It will come apart, just needs to be done with a bit of care. The metal bevel at the front needs to be prised open a bit at a time all the way round until it will come off, after that it's a doddle.

Did'nt realize that, thanks for the advice; stored for the future. Mind you I hope to keep the CSW 'till we all run out of fossil fuel or I turn into one ( touch wood ), only thing I was worried about was someone thinking I had fiddled the speedo :-))
