Just bought a 1980 SIII 109 S/W. Was wondering if Land Rover ever fitted power steering, or if anyone here knows how to convert the 109 to power steering?

There are two methods. Buy a TIC conversion (it just bolts on) - you can get these from (www.) Chris Perfect (.com). The second method is to construct it yourself from your growing pile of leftovers from other Land Rover products. If you don't have a pile of leftovers - just wait a few years..... There are some good references on Google for the DIY route. Jon
Here in Zimbabwe, the Police used to have a load of Santana's. They flogged them off recently, and fitting them to a Series 3 is a popular mod.
