Tracking 110 oddness

May 24, 2007 4 Replies

Maybe Nige may shed some light also as PO but the 110 has a worn inner edge on one tyre on the front passenger side.

If the tracking was the issue would they both wear? It's difficult for me to tell as the 110 arrived like that so I dunno if it's had an equally worn tyre replaced on the other side and tracking sorted.

Nige can you shed any light on any work / tracking / that area?

Any one else re even wear or just one tyre?

It was like that when i got it, but if you look it has a new tracking bar, it was bent & seized. I had the swivels done too to make sure it was spot on trackwise.

It needs new tyres really Lee, those are old mate.

Nige uttered summat worrerz funny about:

yep my thoughts too, just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to munch a new set. I've done a google on the old tracking threads and as best I can tell with a tape measure they are running straight (Cheers Austin! ;-) ).

I'm going to invest in some new boots before the summerols.

A previously bent track rod probably says it all really.

It's onj one side as the bearing on the swivel was shagged Lee, also had a bent rod (ooh-err)

Can't wait for tomorrow, be a right old larf, borrowed my mates guinness fridge to add to the cooling capacity, f*ck it, lets get hammered!

Mine did it for many miles after a track rod end change on the drag link, despite the tracking being set. The swivel pins and shocks were ok. Eventually I changed the track rod/drag link for HD items and finaly set the steering wheel to midships in the process, so I suspect the wear was caused by the track rod end on the drag link not being adjusted correctly to get the steering wheel in the middle.
