Not much beats phoning round the local scrap yards. You could also ask air-con specialists if they could repair the old one. I think you would have to go a long way (the next main dealer perhaps) to find another quote as much as £400. There's a 416 for spares/repair on

for£180 but I don't know if its got a/c.
It is also possible that the compressor from a different model will do the job.
