Just remember to get in the passenger side...
Lol .. like my Rover 218SD you mean .. I can leave that open with the engine running and they turn it off and stick the keys through my door .. ;-)

But the Carlton was a tank (I had one).
On a Cursa they would just bend the window all the way down and wreck the door completely...
Nice up here.
Hmmm, but FWIW it would make them work a bit for it?
What all these cars need is multipoint deadlocking then they would have such an easy time? Ok, they might still break the window but will have to work through the window hole and in a car full of broken glass .. plenty of chance to leave some DNA or summat?
And a window glass is easier (and cheaper?) to replace than even finding a second had door, painting it and making it fit?
I'm all for the 'don't have summat anyone else would want' school of thought, but that only works if the rest of the world has stuff they do want! ;-)

Shame
Just that in my experience if you make out you really don't have anything to steal they'll bother someone else. Reminds me of 2 caravans, both empty but one had it's curtains drawn. You can guess which one was broken into with nothing taken!
It bloody isn't!!!
The message from "fishman" contains these words:
Sorry, but you're wrong. It is an elephant.
Guaranteed to get the local scallies running past on purpose, bouncing balls off it, really cheese the neighbours off with it going off every time someone walks past on the pavement... IME proximity sensor alarms are more trouble than they solve. There really is no cure for this - if you stiffen the door they will just break the glass. You cant leave it unlocked (against your insurance company rules) so you have to either put up with it or move house. Or wait behind the wall with a baseball bat. And no im not joking lol.
I suppose they are ok if you can park yer car well away from the road etc.
Wouldn't that be cheaper to replace though? How mant 'rebends' do tou get before you need a new door / paint etc ?
Or hope the scallies get caught doing summat else and stay away (for a while anyway). ;-)
Or wait behind the wall with a baseball
No, I know you aren't .. as when a house owner that had been burgled for the n'th time said to the PC about getting a baseball bat .. the PC suggested a softball bat 'would be easier to swing indoors ..' ;-)
All the best ..

True, very true. They are also often more reluctant to break glass if its near housing so you have a point.
I like the thinking :) I have a nice extendy wheel brace perfectly suited for the purpose but the softball bat seems neater.
Someone in Cambridge set up a camera in their house and caught a burglar not that long ago.
Story here..
