Cheap older Q-Car for a dad who should know better

I always reckon that the old Triumph Vitesse 2000 straight 6 was the perfect definition of a Q-Car.

It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Simon Atkinson" saying something like:

Ah, but those who knew them could distinguish them from the bog standard Herald.

Now, a Herald with a 2.5pi lump... (not mine)

or

A MK1 Cortina with an Essex... (mine)

or

A Sunbeam with an Essex... (not mine)

or

A Sunbeam with a Ti lump... (mine)

All provided much fun; but the best of the lot was a rusty old Mini of a mate which had some sort of full-on Janspeed lump heaved into it. Great glee.
