Having decided to hang on to my car as it was going so well it now seems to be falling apart around my ears. :-(
First it was the brakes (see master cyclinder thread) and now it's the gearbox.
It's an '06 reg 2.0 SE diesel VW Touran and over the past week the gearbox has started to get "sticky", by which I mean that sometimes it won't change up when it's supposed to.
Occasionally it stops at 3rd gear, more often 4th or 5th and won't change up automatically. If I nudge it up manually it changes promptly with no hesitation and then seems to behave for a while. It changes down as per normal.
The problem is intermittant though and is impossible to recreate to command.
This is the first time the gearbox has ever played up in 96,000 miles and coincidentally it had a gearbox oil change about a month ago.
Any ideas?
