Good luck, but personally, the lack of service history for 5 years would deter me. I don't think mileage is all that important - look at the mileage adjustments in Parkers used car guide, for example: it's not a major factor in the price.

Parkers website suggests private (good), £1675, and private (poor), £1255. If I were buying I'd be looking to pay around £1500 for a good one.

I've tried not to set the price as high as the dearest ones of it's age, sold by dealers, and the customised ones for private sale. It is a pretty good example. Will have to wait and see.

Got a promising call from a guy in Scotland today. Says his own Primera GT has been written off and he's looking for a replacement. Best thing is, he was able to describe the little faults like rust bubble under the spoiler and worn leather trim, without even asking, because he's had them on his last one and knows what to expect!

He says he's arranging a trip down for next week and will contact me nearer the time. In the meantime, I'll be crossing my fingers that he likes it.

Always tricky in situations like that. I hope you've told him that if someone comes along with the readies before then, you'll sell it.

I was caught out once. A guy rang to say he'd be down the next day. Said he was definitely interested, and if the car was as described he'd certainly buy it. The same day 2 guys came to see it. I told them that it was almost certainly sold, but to ring the next day, just in case. Of course, next day the guy didn't turn up, and the 2 guys never rang back. I lost a sale IMO.

Turned out well for me though. The car didn't have an MOT, but I'd told the prospective buyers that their purchase would be subject to it's passing the test. Anyway, I took it for the test and it passed. In fact the examiner was quite impressed with it, and when I told him it was for sale, he baught it on the spot at my asking price. All's well that ends well. :-) Mike.

He did ask about other interest. I told him he was the first as the ad had only been in for a matter of hours. So he should know the score. I don't think he's coming down just to see mine, but as I'm a kindly soul, I've got his number off 1471. In the event that it sells before he rings back, I'll ring him and let him know, to save him the trip.
