Fiesta wing replacement

Hi all, I'm looking at changing the drivers side front wing on a Fiesta. It's a 93 model and the wing looks like it's spot welded on rather than a bolt on type. Are they easy to replace or is it a job for a body shop? Cheers.

I was quoted £300 last year.

The wing costs about £15 and it comes already primed. It's the welding and the paint job that cost the money.

Easy enough if you have a drill and can use a MIG welder. Drill out the spot welds and remove the wing. Drill holes in the new wing in roughly the same places as the original spotwelds. Fit the new wing, using PK screws if necessary to hold it in the correct position. When you're satisfied, MIG weld in the pre-drilled holes, making sure the wing is tight up to the inner wing etc. Take the screws out and weld those holes as well. Clean up the welds in the gutter with an angle grinder. Use seam filler to seal any gaps, and u/seal the join and any exposed holes under the wing, to stop water getting into the joint. Paint to match, job done. Mike.
