Focus vs focus c-max

I've had one as a courtesy car.

It didn't appear to have a useably bigger boot.

If you want a Focus with a big boot, you want a Focus Estate.

Actually, what you want is a Golf Estate, but the Focus is cheaper.

Golf IV = 330 litres Focus Mk1 = 385 litres C-Max = 510 litres.

Or a Focus Saloon...

Hang on, why would anyone want a Golf?

After a long line of Fords, Fiats, Morris's, Minis, Austins, I came across the Golf for the first time about 8 years ago. It is the best of them all. Neat, reliable, efficient, hugs the road like it has invisible railway tracks, accelarates and handles like greased lighning, and has seating that is more than just comfortable. I wouldn't swop it for any of my previous motors.

That's a quirk of the way they're measured.

As a usable space, the C-Max boot is to all intents and purposes no bigger than the hatch boot - but it's a lot taller.

Only if you want to sacrifice practicality. When we had 2 saloons and no hatchbacks / estates, it was an absolute PITA if you wanted to carry anything bulky.

Better residuals, interiors that don't fall apart, proper rust proofing, better diesel engines, nicer ride quality, and arguably better looking.

But think that the Golf has spurned many cars which are essentially the same underneath. Skoda, Seat, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti. So there are many similar cars to choose from.
