Gearbox fill hole

Righty-ho,

Just want to double check something, if you could have a look at the following pic:

I've circled drain plug in the pic, but ignore that :-)

The 2 plugs/nuts that are circled together - which is the fill hole? I'm certain it's the bigger of the 2, but what has thrown me is that when I got new washers for the fill & drain plugs - I was given 2 different sized washers and was told the bigger of the washers was for the drain plug (the drain plug seems the same size as the bigger of the 2 plugs circled together).

Also, the (smaller) washer I was given for the fill plug is too big for the smaller of the 2 plug.

Thanks in advance.

PS. It's a Mazda gearbox.

it is the big one, do not undo the small one, it almost certainly has a gear selector part on it which will fall off into the box.

to my eye that smaller one is too small to be a fill plug.

Regards. Mark.(AKA, Mr.Nice.)

Thanks to mrcheeful and Mr.Nice. for the replies. The dealer had given me the wrong washer for the fill plug hole - simple as that. Changing the gearbox oil was a complete piece of cake (my first time) :-) Although I did have trouble getting hold of a 23mm socket for both plugs - rarer than rocking horse poo.
