It's definately pinking!

Peter doesn't have a FIRE engine, though.

lol

I have considered the injector. Sometimes on cold days the injector sounds like a typewriter though, so it's easy to hear what the injector's actually doing. The air fitler's been replaced (for a standard one).

Doubt it! Up until recently I've been very good with it, although recently it's been starting to feel gutless :-o. I'm not sure whether the gutlessness is in my head or not though. It's annoying though, when it's cold the car needs to be revved until it shakes to get up a hill (about 20mph in 1st :-( ), although that is normal. 2nd gear seems to be labouring even at 15mph though with gentle acceleration (on the flat) :-(. On top of this there's the fact that gear changes are troublesome when cold, so it needs to be revved a bit more to allow for the loss in speed by the time the gear's engaged.

I have hard soled trainers :-(

No, I don't think so. Imagine flooring it in 4th gear going down hill on a motorway. Then imagine going up a steep hill slowly in 1st gear, but not flooring it. The hill with probably be taking my physical effort, but you're not flooring it.

No, it's not because I've gone back to uni. I've had a computer here all the time, I just felt that the time was right :-D

Other Cinq/Sei owners don't seem to know what the noise is, and you think it could be a characteristic noise?

My dad's doesn't pink and my mums doesn't usually pink, unless it's at the point of stalling.

Uni's rubbish, and the government's wasting all of our taxes on it :-( I've got a whole year left :-(

I don't really understand that, but it's usually best to take 3rd gear upto around 35mph when accelerating.

No, I think it was about that from the scrappy! There are two coils, I think they're about £80-£100 new. That price is a lot to pay for something that maynot make a difference. The car that it came from had been rear ended with about 7k on the clock. The coil maybe a bit corroded though :-(

Peter (petermcmillan snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

That isn't pinking.

I can stand it no longer!

It is DEFINITELY DEFINITELY!

Pete

Don't tell you can fit 3 Cinq/Seics in one Garage?

In news: snipped-for-privacy@news.individual.net, Sleeker GT Phwoar decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

Only just realised who posted this!

Nice id...

What size?

Seriously. It could be that if they are over large or small that might be part of the problem.

I can drive, but it isn't as fluid/comfortable. Shoes are worse than my boots, which although very stiff because of steel toe caps are made of fairly soft rubber, so although I lose flex, I retain feel.

What you want are the type with a flexible rubber grip layer with a foam cushion layer. Made out of Suede or nylon mesh and vinyl, they will give and move, but your feet might sweat more. Also, get hte narrowest fitting you can comfortabley wear, it will give more room arround the pedals.

I prefer Vans or Converse in Suede or Suede and mesh. Even solid rubber soles are fine if they have plenty of give and flex in all directions. they aren't even that expensive if you have something like a MacArthur Glenn outlet village nearby. Vans and Converse + some other places have outlets where they sell off last years designs for at least 50% of the new price.

One more hting to try, bare feet (not socks), try a short drive at a quiet time in completly bar feet, socks will make it to slippy. Your feet will hurt, but will harden over time. If your driving improves, you've sorted that issue.

The message from "scott" contains these words:

I'm usualy in fourth by 20mph and just roll gently on to whatever the speed limit is.

The message from Sleeker GT Phwoar contains these words:

With his clutch control? Probably stacked on top of each other.

God, I'm changing upto 3rd at 30, any lower and it "labours" if I try to accelerate. Doesn't pink though.

Yeah, I thought so too, it was either this, or SushiRacer.
