I have an 'N' reg 2 litre mondeo, when I turned the key, I get a click, some of the dashboard lights flash and the windscreen wipers start, any ideas?

flat battery or loose or broken battery lead or engine earth lead would be the first things to examine.

as b4 check battery first then move back from that
Turn your wipers off and buy a new battery ;-)
